Colophon

In non-hoity-toity speak, "How's it made?"

I write all my notes in Obsidian in plain .md format. Markdown notes are committed to a GitHub repo using the Obsidian Digital Garden plugin.

The Eleventy static site generator and a few Nunjucks templates generate the website's HTML from my markdown notes. (Again, based on the Obsidian Digital Garden Template repo by author of the DG plugin.)

Once generated, the website is deployed to and hosted on Vercel. My DNS is managed with Hover. Basic page view analytics done with Goat Counter.

I also use Syncthingto sync my markdown notes between my devices. Great utility, lets me publish changes from my desktop or my phone. Also just great in general for backing up files. I've got it on nearly every device for some reason or another.

Speaking of DNS...Lichtenstein? Why .li? No particular reason. I wanted the shortest domain I could find that was related to my name or initials. Whilst searching through domains that started with jtm, filtering out domains that were just dumb, I saw .li was available. So I picked that one. Probably not the greatest idea given I have no connection to Lichtenstein, but oh well. Let us simply say that I am sending them my well wishes and hope that they live long and prosper. Or at least as long as I'm alive.
