Tal Bauer - Gravity

Review

Yeah, I found this one to be pretty dreadfully boring. I cannot truck with a romance where we fall in love in the first 5 minutes and then move from there. There's just no room for anything of substance to happen. I also felt that this one felt too unbelievable, such that it took me out of it. Everyone on the team knows that these two are a couple and are completely supportive? No questions asked? I'm not asking for everyone to start slinging around the f slur. And neither am I asking for the couple to have to put up a brave front where they must face a little discrimination but their courage causes everyone in the bus to stand up and clap. But like in a team of professional sports people, you're telling me there isn't a single person here that will at least look sideways?

There's just no detail to any of these people. They aren't real and don't approach the realm of real. I could not give you a single personality trait of either of the protagonists in this one. Much less the other characters who are wholly interchangeable. It sucks because the actual prose is perfectly competent. I just don't like what it's being used to create. Too happy, too I Love You. Didn't care for Gravity. I am sure there are folks out there who just want a wholesome goopy romance where all is well, there is some small stumbling block that cannot hold true love back, and all works out in the end. It just is not me. I can't enjoy the genre without getting at least a little deeper. I want a happy ending, but if we don't remotely have to work for it, it all just feels like wasted time.
