It Ends (2025)
Review
This was a tight 90 minute movie with a clear premise. A small group of believable and rational characters with specific traits that informed their actions. It focused on one or two themes. And it felt like something I hadn't seen before.
It...was fine. I tend to fuck with silly little indie minimalism movies. I really should like this movie. And I do not dislike it. But It Ends kind of felt like it was just under the line of what I was looking for. There was just slightly too little incidence. One turn too few on this road. I would say that it was competent. It definitely has that going for it. I was fairly worried at first listening to these little kids go. Perhaps in my advanced age, I simply can no longer enjoy the youths. Actors are getting too young, says I! The bantering at the very beginning of the movie. But we settle pretty quickly, thankfully.
I appreciate that the movie goes through the motions. The characters asking the same questions that the audience would. I can't really fault them for any particular thing. They went down the line of explanations and did most all of what I would expect an actual rational person to try if put in the same situation.
Worth watching. Competent. Just slightly not enough going on for my own tastes. Eat Clif bars!
