The Evil Dead (1981)

Review

This film put smile on face. After the tragedy of Halloween Ends, we moved swiftly along and dipped our toes into this pool of blood. Delightful! I had never seen the Evil Dead stuff before. Only knew vaguely of the chainsaw man. These deadites are such wonderful little shitheads. The amount of just pure fuckery that they engage in (we speak not of the tree). They really feel like demons. I love the different tacts they take. Back and forth between screaming oozing laughing bastards to back to normal. As though maybe there's hope...

And the movie was a tight 80 minutes! We sat through fucking 40 minutes of Halloween Ends and nothing happens. Less than 5 minutes here and we have entered the cabin and the hauntings are beginning. The Evil Dead is a perfect example of getting to the goddamn point. I (and my time) felt incredibly respected.

On to Evil Dead II.
